HOW TO GET HERE

It takes about 1 hour 15 minutes from Inverness to Ullapool, and another 45 minutes from Ullapool to Altandhu. 

From Ullapool, take the A835 North. After 10 miles, the turn off to the left for Achiltibuie and the Summer Isles is well marked.  Keep driving along the single track road for about half an hour, past Stac Pollaidh car park and past the turn off to Lochinver, until you reach a fork in the road at Loch Raa. This road is a loop so it doesn’t really matter if you take the wrong direction, but the quickest route is to take the right turn, towards the big beach, marked for Altan Dubh and Reiff (not left towards Achiltibuie). 

A short distance after Achnahaird you will reach the crest of a hill, with a small viewpoint sign to the right, and from there you will see the Summer Isles, Altandhu, and the chalets by the sea.  Carry on down the hill, follow the road round to the left and you will reach the chalets (opposite the road marked 222).

The Spruce, Birch, Fir and Cedar chalets are in the group of four, and the Rowan chalet is set on its own further along (turn down the next road on your right, just before the red ‘phone box).

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What is included in the chalet?
Towels, bedding and electricity are included in your booking. Your chalet will also have dishwasher tablets, washing powder, washing up liquid, tea towels, dish cloths, liquid soap, and a hairdryer – a few less things to bring!
Is there WiFi and mobile signal?
Wi-fi is provided in all of our chalets at no charge. Mobile ‘phone reception is very patchy around the peninsula, and there is virtually no reception down at the chalets.
Is there a grocery delivery service locally?
Achiltibuie Stores will deliver groceries to your chalet for your arrival if you wish – please contact Theresa on 01854 622 496 or achiltibuiestores@gmail.com to place your order.
When can I check-in?
4pm, although we are likely to be ready for you before this. If you think you will be arriving earlier, please let us know and we will do our best to accommodate this. Your chalet will be open for your arrival and we will endeavour to call down to see you to make sure you have everything you need.
What time do I need to check-out?
10am, thank you. On departure please leave the keys in the door. We are a small family business, and try very hard to make the chalets attractive and relaxing. Tricia, in particular, puts a lot of effort into ensuring that your chalet is clean and welcoming for your arrival. Please return her this courtesy and spend some time before you leave to make sure your chalet is left clean and tidy, thank you!
Can I bring my pet(s)?
Your pets are very welcome, but we do ask that they not be allowed in bedrooms, on beds, or on the furniture. If any evidence of pets are found in the bedrooms, guests will be asked to pay for the cost of new sets of bed linen as this is only fair to our other guests. Please also see our pictorial pet policy, thank you.

Please just ask, we are here to help. Linda’s house is the bungalow up the road opposite the set of four chalets (222 Altandhu) – ‘phone/email contact details are above, and will also be in your chalet. Linda is also on WhatsApp if you wish to use that, or message us through our Facebook, Instragram or Twitter accounts.
